Jane McAlevey on How to Achieve a Green New Deal

Jane McAlevey’s career began in environmental justice and union organizing. McAlevey received her PhD from the CUNY graduate Center in 2015 and her areas of expertise include collective bargaining, union organizing, research on union avoidance firms, power structure analysis, and mission-driven economic sectors like education and healthcare. She has written a number of books including “Raising Expectations (and Raising Hell): My Decade Fighting for the Labor Movement” (2012), “No Shortcuts: Organizing for Power in the New Gilded Age” (2016), and “A Collective Bargain: Unions, Organizing, and the Fight for Democracy” (2020).
