Clint Eastwood was busy also with Coogan's Bluff, Where Eagles Dare and Hang em High. Steve Mcqueen had Bullit and The Thomas Crown Affair and Chalton Heston landed on The Planet of the Apes and Will Penney. Stanley Kubrick gave us one of the best Sci Fi movies of all time with 2001 a Space Odyssey and Sergio Leone gave us one of the best Westerns of all time with Once Upon a time in the West. Speaking of Westerns, 1968 was full of them. And they also had some of the best titles ever - "Django :prepare a coffin", "If you meet Sartana pray for your death", "The Scalphunters", " Kill them all and come back alone", " The Savage Seven", " Five Card Stud", " The Devil rides out" and " The Great Silence" which I think inspired Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight. George A Romero created the modern ZOMBIE genre with Night of the Living Dead. Robert De Niro (Greetings), Jack Nicholson ( Psych-Out), Gene Wilder ( The Producers) and Richard Pryor ( Wild in the Streets ) were starting to get their names in the credits. Roman Polanski scored a big hit with Rosemary's Baby and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Oliver brought the kids and families together for a sing song.
