CHEVY MALIBU P305F DUAL BATTERY FAULT DIAGNOSIS PART 1

In today's case study we are working on a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu LT with a 2.5L Ecotech 4 cylinder engine. The customer complaint is that the check engine light is illuminated. Using a scan tool we were able to find trouble code DTC P305F DUAL BATTERY CONTROL MODULE PERFORMANCE, stored in the ecm. After doing some research we find that there is a TSB or technical service bulletin for this code TSB # 18-NA-367. We also learn that this vehicle is equipped with 2 batteries. One primary battery under the hood and an auxiliary battery in the trunk. We also find that the vehicle is equipped with start and stop feature which shuts the engine off during idle.
