The 356 B Carrera 2 comes with a 2.0 litre vertical shaft Fuhrmann engine - Königswellenmotor - and produces 130HP (96kW) at 6200rpm. With a curb weight of 1020kg the 2000 GS is capable of a top speed of 200km/h and a 0-100km/h time of 9.0sec. The Carrera 2 series was also the first to be fitted with disc brakes on all wheels. The 2000 GS/GT series was produced from September 1961 until July 1963 and could be ordered in the variants Coupé, Cabriolet and Roadster. A total of 310 units were built.
