Coats Plus Syndrome: A Story of Two Brothers With Same Rare Genetic Condition
Brothers Liam and Ethan were both diagnosed with a rare genetic condition known as Coats Plus Syndrome by the team at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital. Coats plus syndrome is an inherited condition characterized by an eye disorder called Coats disease plus abnormalities of the brain, bones, gastrointestinal system, and other parts of the body. The brothers are now under intensive care led by the hospital's Center Complex Care where a multi-disciplinary team work together to meet the childrne's medical needs. The center, led by Dr. Amanda Porro and in collaboration with Boston Children's Hospital, enlisted numerous physician specialists for the case. That includes pediatric neurologist Monica Arroyo, MD, who made the diagnosis. For more information about Center of Complex Care visit: https://www.jdch.com/services/complex...
