As they traverse the wilderness, they face numerous challenges and hardships. Moses receives God's laws and commandments at Mount Sinai, including the Ten Commandments. In addition, the Tabernacle is built, a mobile sanctuary where God's presence can dwell among the people. Throughout the book of Exodus, God's providence and power in delivering and providing for the Israelites is highlighted. Despite the people's trials and rebellion, God guides and protects the Israelites during their wilderness journey. In summary, the book of Exodus recounts the Israelites' deliverance from slavery in Egypt, the giving of God's laws and commandments, and the people's journey to the Promised Land.
