The head of the republic, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, attended a gala event dedicated to Knowledge Day at his hometown school in Sunzha, where he graduated in 1976. The school first opened its doors in 1934. Currently, School No. 1, the successor to the old one, operates in a new building constructed in 2017 as part of the federal target program "Improving the Resilience of Residential Buildings, Key Facilities, and Life Support Systems in Seismic Areas." The head of the region congratulated the teachers, parents, and students of the organization, singling out the first-graders and graduates, for whom, he said, the first and last Knowledge Day is especially exciting. Today, 142 first-graders entered Secondary School No. 1 for the first time and sat at their desks. The head of the region also joined the guests to watch a celebratory program performed by the school's students, which included vocal and dance numbers.
