Die Stadt Liegnitz war bis 1945 Hauptstadt des Regierungsbezirkes Liegnitz in der Provinz Schlesien. Nach dem Ende des zweiten Weltkrieg (1945) wurde Liegnitz von der sowjetischen Besatzungsmacht unter polnische Verwaltung gestellt und die deutsche Bevölkerung wurde komplett vertrieben und durch Polen ersetzt. Eine Reise durch Schlesien und die die Stadt Liegnitz im August 2020.
