Fairytale Karelia Mushrooms 2026. A quiet hunt, alone in the taiga. Mushroom picking in a new mushroom forest in northern Karelia. I went to a birch tree and was speechless. No mushroom picker had ever set foot here.    • Зашёл к БЕРЁЗЕ и ОНЕМЕЛ! Здесь не ступала ...   I found many young, clean, noble mushrooms. Aspen and birch boletes were in abundance after heavy rains in the spruce forest among the birches in the blueberry patch. I scouted out promising summer myceliums, where every year I collect porcini mushrooms, aspen boletes, yellow chanterelles, boletus, birch boletes, white milk mushrooms, russula, butter mushrooms, moss boletuses, and other edible mushrooms in large numbers. I wandered further with a GPS, so as not to get lost in the wilderness, and accidentally found clearings of young aspen boletuses. Bears are king here, and you have to watch your back. The weather was variable, 20 degrees Celsius, with the sun shining in places. Karelia's pristine nature was all around—untouched forest, not a soul in sight. I left plenty for the squirrels—they'll come and feast. I'll definitely return to these remote Karelian places. I found many rare mushrooms, and collected a full basket. It was a dream come true.
