BEBT 2025 - Best Ever Balkan Tour IIDay 7 – Sarajevo to Visegrad, Bosnia & Herzegovina

Day 7 – Sarajevo to Visegrad, Bosnia & Herzegovina Not a day I shall easily forget, and a great reminder to do a basic check of the motorcycle before setting off. As it happened, I entered a long tunnel without lights, only to find that my headlight did not work. Total panic for a few seconds, and fortunately saved by a driver who had quickly cottoned on to my predicament. Grateful forever to you, madam or sir. Just outside the town of Foça, there is an impressive memorial to those who perished in the 90s, which gives pause for thought. How was this allowed to happen in Europe, in very recent memory? The ride to Visegrad presented gorgeous landscapes and backdrops, simply stunning. Visegrad is famous for the Mehmed Pasha Sokolovic bridge, which is a Unesco World Heritage site and has an amazing story to tell. Andric Grad is dedicated to the Yugoslav novelist and Nobel Prize laureate in Literature Ivo Andrić. A sort of historic reconstruction and worth a visit. The episode is dedicated to my friend’s mum, who passed away that day. We spent many great evenings at their house when we were pimply and teenagers.
