What is KISS? The “simple” standard for connecting Packet Radio KISS stands for “Keep It Simple, Stupid,” and in amateur radio, it refers to a widely used method for connecting a computer to a TNC (or a software TNC) directly, easily, and efficiently. In Packet Radio, controllers called TNCs (Terminal Node Controllers) were traditionally used. These controllers were responsible for converting digital data into audio and vice versa, and they also managed the AX.25 protocol.
