LAGO COTE - Costa Rica. Capítulo 22 - Conociendo Costa Rica

A tour to discover the famous Cote Lake, known for being the site of the highest number of Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) sightings. This one-kilometer-diameter lake is located in the canton of Guatuso, Alajuela province. It is difficult to access but boasts unparalleled beauty, surrounded by stunning greenery and the flora and fauna that surround this wonderful place. This tour is 30% gravel and 70% paved, as we will skirt Cote Lake and take a rural road to reach the town of Guatuso. The route we will take is as follows: Departing from San José, we will pass through Alajuela and San Ramón, where we will join the route that takes us to Bajo Los Rodríguez and La Fortuna de San Carlos. We will pass by the foothills of the Arenal Volcano and skirt the Arenal Lake Dam. We will continue towards the town of Nuevo Arenal and then reach Cote Lake. On the way back, we will pass through the towns of Guatuso and Muelle de San Carlos, then Ciudad Quesada, Zarcero, and Sarchí, ending the return trip in San José.
