Initially, his grandfather ran the family business in a building along the Maumee River on Toledo's East Side. It opened there in the mid-1940s. About 10 years later, it was hit by a boat and knocked off its foundation. So, Cousino's relocated and has continued to expand by adding rooms throughout the decades.
