I went to Ikoma Sanjo Amusement Park on the Kintetsu Ikoma Cable, the oldest cable car in Japan. The Kintetsu Ikoma Cable began operation in 1918 as Japan's first cable car. In 2000, four cute cars, "Bul", "Mike", "Doremi" and "Sweet", were introduced. You can get on at Kintetsu Toriimae Station, transfer at Hozanji Station along the way, and go to Ikoma Sanjo Station to get to Ikoma Sanjo Amusement Park. When you get on the "Bul" or "Mike" cars, cute music is played inside the car. The one-way fare from Toriimae Station to Ikoma Sanjo Station is 500 yen. (IC cards cannot be used) This time, I took the Kintetsu from the Osaka area. I was able to get a good deal on the cable car by purchasing the "Nara-Ikaruga 1-day ticket" in advance. This ticket can be used to travel from private railways and subways in Kansai to Nara and Ikaruga, and allows unlimited travel on designated sections of private railways and subways in Kansai and Kintetsu (including Ikoma Cable) for one day.
