Ultralight Flying Inside of the Seattle Kingdome - 1981
Steve Grossruck flies his Kasperwing ultralight in Seattle's Kingdome for the 1981 Seattle Museum of Flight annual paper airplane contest. The first pilot makes a couple of laps on the infield but decides not to get airborne. Steve had a problem starting his plane for his flight, so the first pilot lent his plane to Steve. Steve made three complete laps around the inside of the Kingdome at the 300 level before landing successfully back on the infield. I apologize for the poor quality of this video, but it was taken with, what was at the time, a state-of-the-art, single vidicon tube, consumer video camera and a (separate) portable VHS tape recorder.
