Septic Care and New Inspection Program Information Session | June 2026
The Township of Lake of Bays hosted this Public Information Session to help residents and property owners understand the new Sewage System Maintenance Inspection Program (SSMIP), launching in 2026, and the importance of proper septic system care. Most homes and cottages in Lake of Bays rely on private septic systems. As many of these systems age, regular maintenance and inspection are essential to protect our lakes, groundwater, public health, and property values.
