Catalina 22 sailing from Deltaville to Hampton Virginia- Small Sails Ep.8

On this episode of Small Sailboat, Big Adventures we move the boat from Deltaville Marina to Bell Isle marina, in Hampton Virginia, the same marina I had kept the Potter at. The sail is 40 nautical miles through the Chesapeake bay, passing Mobjack Bay and the York River. The wind was blowing out of the North West and really started picking up right before getting to the mouth of Mobjack Bay, which gave it plenty of fetch to kick up some waves for us. Very fun, and a very good test of the boat to get me more familiar with it's capabilities and limitations, as well as getting to trust it more. The whole trip took just shy of 8 hours. An interesting fact, a friend of mine did this same trip from Deltaville to the same marina in Hampton even, and he had a storm kick up unexpectedly which beached his Tartan and badly damaged it, so I was a little nervous initially.
