Adurthi prepared the line based on a short story he had read, and Mullapudi Venkataramana wrote the script of the movie "Moogamanasulu" on Adurthi's request. Usually, films were shot in various studios in Madras at that time, but most of the film was shot outdoors in the Godavari area from Bhadrachalam to Dhavaleswaram and Narasapuram, as well as in the surrounding areas of Godavari. The film's songs were written by Athreya, Kosaraju and Dasarathi, and composed by K.V. Mahadevan. The film, released in 1964, was a huge success despite the rumors that the film was not good and the boat accidents that occurred on the Godavari before its release. The film, which received appreciation from the audience and critics, ran for 175 days. The film was produced by Tarachand Barjatya and L.V. Prasad and directed by Adurthi Subbarao, and starred Nutan and Sunil Dutt in the lead roles. The film was a success there too. Most of the film was shot outdoors. Since the story takes place in the villages on the banks of the Godavari in Narasapuram town and the scenes between the hero and heroine are mainly on the bridge over the Godavari, a huge fleet of ships was used for the shooting, including large launches, 6x15 feet punts, petrol boats, and Victoria steamers. Filming began in ships and boats, starting from Bhadrachalam and ending in Dhavaleswaram. Mullapudi wrote in his book that the actors and technicians were accommodated on them and the director stopped at any location he liked while traveling and filmed. However, before the shooting, co-producer Sundaram objected that if the film was to be shot outdoors, he would not be able to control the crowd with stars like Nageswara Rao and Savitri, and that the film should not be made on the Godavari. At the last minute, as initially planned, they decided to shoot the film outdoors in the vicinity of Godavari. Akkineni Nageshwarao, Savitri, Jamuna, Nagabhushanam, Gummadi, Allu Ramalingaiah, Padmanabham and others came here and participated in the shooting.. Thus, the shooting was done in the Dutch building next to the Walandar dock in Narasapuram as Savitri's house..
