US Railroad Crossings 2025 (Part 1)
2025 was definitely another fun year for me. Went out and got a bunch of siren tests this past year, which let me get out and do some railfanning in areas I otherwise wouldn't really hit-up, such as out in western Tennessee along the former IC main. Two notable trips for me this year as well were a trip I took with @EthantheRailfanner and @RaisedLetter down to the Orlando, FL, area in the summer and a trip up to Wisconsin for Ponyville Ciderfest in the fall. I also took an overnight trip to LaGrange, GA, in August along with an overnight trip to Kentucky in October. The Florida trip let me film a bunch of crossings down around central Florida that I hadn't been too before, including a few of the older ones around the Ybor City neighborhood in Tampa. I even got to film another WABCO bell while I was down there! The PVCF trip I got to hit-up more of the former IC main in Illinois, along with the Safetran Type 1 e-bells on the CN Yazoo Sub in Mississippi and a bit of the former L&N main on my way home. With all of the shooting I've done on the former IC, I've been able to record a ton of Safetran hybrid bells this past year, which was pretty nice. NS also sadly replaced the signals at Church Street in downtown Madison earlier in the year as well, sadly, though @vtgrxrman and I were able to save all of the old Safetran 8 inch lights there, along with the bell and old SOU DOT tags. The new signals there are also fully incandescent too, which is pretty cool to see. Downtown Cullman, AL, also became a quiet zone this past year, which caused Arnold Street to have its old L&N gateless signals (featuring the second to last mechanical bell on the S&NA North) replaced with a set of quad-gate signals, the first install of its kind in the state. I also took a trip down to the CSX Selma Sub and got to chase a CSX M527 along it, allowing me to film a pair of old WRRS cantilevers that, for some reason, had their overhead arms removed. All in all, this was a great year and I got to film a bunch of crossings that I hadn't filmed before as a result, leading me to have to split this compilation over 4 parts. If you like my videos, feel free to leave me a tip on Ko-Fi! Any tips you give will be used to help cover the cost of gas on my trips. https://ko-fi.com/freebrickproductions
