This is tapioca udon, a set of udon bait made with tapioca starch for crucian carp fishing. The bait is made using edible tapioca flour (tapioca starch). Tapioca udon is quite firm, so you don't need to add bait with each cast, making for more efficient fishing. While the udon will be white if made as is, I tried coloring it with yellow food coloring. If you ask me if yellow is better, I'm not sure how to answer. Personally, I prefer the yellow color. As long as you have the right tools and ingredients, it can be made in about 10 minutes. It uses paper cups and disposable chopsticks, so there's no need to wash pots. It's easy to make with just a microwave, so give it a try. My microwave is 500W.
