TransAlp by MTB from Lake Leman to the Mediterranean Sea

A TransAlp is probably on the bucket list of every European mountain biker. After having crossed the Eastern Alps in 2014, now it was time to tackle the Western Alps. Starting at the Lake Leman and finishing 1000km further South at the Mediterranean Sea, in Ventimiglia, Italy. Riding a super-light carbon hardtail mountain bike with saddle bag and a backpack over the shoulders. Mostly off-road over ancient military roads, but also conquering famous cols from the Tour de France and the Giro d'Italia. Although it was end of June, there was still lots of snow above 2200m. This caused a serious waste of time, but it also contributed to nice and spectacular pictures. Highlights were the many glaciers, the famous semi off-road Colle del Nivolet, the military roads and forts of the Strada dell'Assietta, and much much more...
