In this video, Master Woodturner Kirk DeHeer demonstrates the process of turning a traditional lidded box with a slip-fit lid. In this video, Kirk describes how to choose the right material for making wooden boxes and continues on to demonstrate the process step-by-step. Throughout the video, emphasis is placed on how to make efficient cuts that produce great results. In addition, proper tool use, chucking the box while turning and recommended methods of sanding and finishing are thoroughly covered.
