Recipes on good vanilla and cardamom braids. Skip the vanilla cream and pour in cinnamon in the butter cream to get cinnamon braids :) The recipe is enough for 4 large braids. You can half the recipe and bake 2 large braids. NOTE. In the movie I use half the recipe. Dough: 50 g of fresh yeast 150 g of room-warm butter 5 dl milk 250 g quark 1½ dl sugar 1 egg ½ teaspoon salt 14-15 dl wheat flour Filling: 100 g of room-warm butter 0.75 dl sugar 2 teaspoons vanilla sugar 1 tbsp ground cardamom Custard: 3½ dl milk 9 tablespoons instant marrow powder brushing 2 eggs granulated sugar Crumble the yeast in a bowl. Heat the milk to 35 degrees celcius. Pour it over the yeast and stir to dissolve the yeast. Pour in about half of the wheat flour and stir together. Continue adding the quark, sugar, eggs, salt and mix well. Cut the butter into slightly larger cubes and place in them. Add some flour at a time. Knead the dough or use a dough machine for 10-15 minutes. Let the dough rise under a cloth for about 45 minutes. Stir together all the ingredients for filling over time. Knead through the dough and divide it into 4 parts. Every quarter becomes a braid. Roll out each part into a rectangle. Divide into 3 parts in length. Wide on filling and pinch the dough together. Braid the parts together and place on a baking sheet covered with paper. Allow to ferment under cover for 30 minutes. While the dough is fermenting, whisk the vanilla cream together. Pour milk into a bowl and whisk down the instant marrow powder Leave to swell for a few minutes. Then pour the vanilla cream into a syringe. Brush the braids with whisked egg and then sprinkle with ganulated sugar. Put the vanilla cream on the pre-fermented braids. Bake in the bottom of the oven for 200 degrees Celcius for about 30 minutes.
