silvopasture soil carbon noon 17december2025
Silvopasture and Carbon: The Impacts of Adding Trees to Pasture Silvopastures, the deliberate integration of livestock and trees in pastures, have been identified as potentially important land use systems for mitigating climate impacts via carbon sequestration. A recent study investigated the carbon impact of implementing silvopasture after trees were planted in silvopasture systems in the northeastern United States. Join Dr. Joseph Orefice who will describe the study and the changes measures in ecosystem level carbon stocks of silvopastures developed from planting trees into existing treeless pastures. December 17, 2025 Dr. Joseph Orefice, Lecturer and Director of Forest & Agricultural Operations, Yale University
