Getting the Most from Indiana's New Eviction Sealing Law: for Tenants, Housing Providers, and Community Organizations: Prosperity Indiana, in partnership with Indiana Legal Services and the Indiana Bar Foundation’s Indiana Legal Help, hosted Getting the Most from Indiana's new Eviction Sealing Law for Tenants, Housing Providers, and Community Organizations webinar on August 25th, at 10am EST. This webinar will increase participant's understanding of how Indiana’s new eviction sealing process has been streamlined to make the process of removing eviction records easier for the tenant population your organization serves. The webinar is delivered by subject matter experts in Housing Law, Legal Aid, Advocacy, Policy, and Affordable Housing. Speakers include: Andrew Bradley, Prosperity Indiana, Senior Director of Policy and Strategy Jennifer Terry, Indiana Legal Services, Staff Attorney Mike Commons, Indiana Bar Foundation, Indiana Legal Help Manager Danielle Drew, Prosperity Indiana, Housing Stability Program Manager Agenda: Welcome and introductions Andrew Bradley, Prosperity Indiana, will provide background of how SEA 142 came to pass with advocacy help from the Hoosier Housing Needs Coalition, stakeholders, members and partners. Jennifer Terry, Indiana Legal Services, subject matter expert in Indiana’s Eviction Sealing Law will highlight how the eviction sealing process will work under the new law. Jenny will also share some key eviction sealing resources to help tenants, housing providers, and community organizations better understand the new guidance and process. Mike Commons, Indiana Bar Foundation’s Indiana Legal Help, will provide a live demonstration of where and how to locate eviction sealing resources on IndianaLegalHelp.org website and legal aid kiosks. Danielle Drew, Prosperity Indiana, will facilitate a discussion with participants about how the new law could be a 'game changer' for housing navigators and other practitioners in working with clients.
