Cnc lathe making brass solenoid nut, turn, drill, centre drill, thread 0.75 Pitch and 1.5 part off
This part is used in a solenoid assembly in an Autogas application. The brass is turned with a 35° Sumitomo FC type carbide insert, drilled with a stub drill (screw machine drill) and then a centre drill. This sounds the wrong way round but it is not, drill then centre drill was how it was done. The part is then screwcut with a 0.75 pitch metric thread at 3000rpm. It is then parted off with a 1.5 wide right hand parting insert. Video then shows the part assembled in the solenoid with the solenoid operating.
