The Governor of South Papua, Apolo Safanpo, and his entourage conducted a series of working visits to Tanah Merah, Boven Digoel Regency, on Saturday (June 27, 2026). During the visit, the Governor inspected several locations and distributed various aid packages, including food supplies, musical instruments, and funds. To kick off their agenda, Governor Apolo and his entourage visited the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Parish in Tanah Merah. There, the Governor distributed 100 food packages, an electronic musical instrument (a single organ), and Rp100 million in funds to support the church's services and construction. After visiting the Sacred Heart Parish, the entourage proceeded to the Tanah Merah GPI Classis office. The same attention was shown by handing over 100 food packages, a single organ, and Rp100 million in cash assistance to the classis. The visit, which upheld the values ​​of religious tolerance, then continued to one of the mosques located at the zero point of Boven Digoel. During his visit, the governor of South Papua handed over another Rp 100 million in aid to support the operation and construction of places of worship. Afterward, the group headed to an Islamic boarding school (Ponpes) in the Tanah Merah area. Governor Apolo personally distributed 100 packages of nine basic necessities (sembako) to meet the needs of the students and administrators. The aid distribution continued to the Asrama Susteran (Convent of the Sisters) in the Asiki area. There, the Governor distributed another 100 packages of basic necessities, which were received directly by the dormitory management. In addition to focusing on the distribution of new aid, Governor Apolo Safanpo also used this field visit to ensure and directly monitor whether the aid from the Provincial Government distributed last year was being properly received and reaching its intended targets. Beyond these main locations, the Governor and his entourage also took the time to stop at several other locations and hand out various aid items to address the needs of the local community.
