Ft Benning 1 7 1992
I attended basic training at Ft. Benning GA from October 1966 to December 1966. The location of our boot camp training area was Harmony Church. On the way back from Florida to Ohio, I stopped at Harmony Church to see what the old place looked like. It was January 7, 1992. The barracks, mess halls, and other structures were still there but most of the buildings had been stripped of the asbestos shingles that made up the siding. I'm sure it wasn't long after that all the buildings were then demolished.
