Superman: Solar is a YouTube fan film that tries to be deep and emotional... but ends up being accidentally racist, painfully awkward, and somehow worse than a CW episode. From weirdly intense stares to tone-deaf writing, this thing feels like an AI tried to recreate Man of Steel from memory. In this video, I break down the absolute chaos that is Superman Solar, from the cringe acting to the bizarre story choices and the moments that made me want to turn it off (but didn’t, so you don’t have to). With James Gunn’s new Superman (2025) movie on the way and DC rebooting their whole universe, I figured this was the perfect time to revisit one of the worst Superman portrayals of all time — and compare it to what we’re hoping to see from the DCU moving forward.
