A Carp fishing day session turned Carpfest on Parkland lake at Eye Kettleby.

This is a short film of my latest Carp fishing session at Eye Kettleby lakes in Leicestershire, it was a case of me making the most of this one as we only had the one full day onsite. We arrived Friday afternoon and were due to depart on the Sunday morning, I was determined therefore to make the very most of this carping session. I had done all the necessary rig tying and making of some solid bags with pellets and wafter hook baits, I'd also sharpened all my hooks to the point where I couldn't get them any better to my ability. I also had in mind a certain location on the lake as to where I wanted to present my hookbait as I'd been here 5 or 6 times over the past and noticed that the fish always seem to congregate in this area by a wooden pontoon which leads out from the island at approx' 75/80 yards. As I approached the lake at 6.45am I had a really strong feeling of optimism as to what lay ahead. When I approach a lake one of the first things I like to do Is take a slow walkabout to see if there's any fish showing and also get a feel for different features, casting distances etc but this wasn't necessary as previously mentioned I have quite a lot of experience on this water and certainly know where the Carp reside at this time of year.
