ChIP, ChIP-Chip, and ChIP-Seq

Chromatin Immunoprecipitation and its associated techniques - ChIP-PCR, ChIP-Chip, and ChIP-Seq, have provided us with remarkable, genome-wide as well as spatial and temporal maps of binding of proteins to DNA. These techniques are very important to understand the order of binding of various proteins, as well as analysis of different histone modifications on different genes. Misregulation of binding of many important proteins leads to various developmental disorders and cancer. It is therefore imperative that we understand these DNA-protein interactions in more detail. In this video, I discuss the principle, protocol, and limitations of these techniques.
