After the last episode, dozens of people wrote to me, ready to come to the Portuguese village and be part of this story. And now it's time to meet the new team. Together, we'll have to endure the true Portuguese heat of 40°C (104°F), harvest peaches and the neighbor's plum tree, start a major renovation in several rooms at once, convert an irrigation reservoir into a makeshift swimming pool, and, of course, tackle a host of other gardening and construction tasks. Each episode of this series further convinces me that restoring an old house isn't just about renovations.
