"Thor," "God of War," "Valheim," "Material Puzzle," "Ragnarok Online"... The common thread among these is none other than "Norse mythology." Why do Norse mythology and Vikings continue to stimulate subcultural imaginations worldwide? We had a discussion with Makoto Yukimura, the creator of the masterpiece comic "Vinland Saga," which concluded last year with a grand finale and beautifully depicted the Viking world, and two researchers specializing in Norse mythology and the medieval Viking world, Professor Minoru Ozawa and Professor Ryo Matsumoto. 👤 Makoto Yukimura (Manga Artist) Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. Dropped out of Tama Art University, Faculty of Fine Arts. After working as an assistant to Dai Morimura, he debuted in 1999 with "Planetes," published in "Morning" (Kodansha). He began serializing "Vinland Saga" in 2005.
