Histórico éxito: Más de 5 mil naguas brillaron en el primer desfile de David

The first-ever Parade of a Thousand Naguas exceeded all expectations on October 18th, boasting a massive turnout that boosted the number of traditional garments from five thousand naguas to over five thousand. The event solidified its status as a resounding success, bringing together more than 175 delegations from schools, institutions, private companies, and cultural groups representing the country's diverse ethnicities. From its start, around 9:00 a.m., the parade transformed the streets of David into a vibrant cultural mosaic. Spectators enjoyed cultural expressions such as dances and musical performances, while the colorful naguas, with their distinctive serpent-inspired designs, adorned the route. The start of this historic day was marked by the ceremony in which the mayor of the district of David, Joaquín De León, presented the honor of flag bearer to Rosa Iveth Montezuma, cultural ambassador for this inaugural Parade of a Thousand Naguas. The overwhelming success has generated high expectations for the next edition of the parade, which is expected to be officially established as an annual event on the third Saturday of October, solidifying the activity as a cultural tradition in the province. 🎙Krisley Santamaría 📽Raúl Espinoza
