May in Scotland VLOG - Highland Games, Cairngorms, lambs, gardens

May was truly a magical month in Scotland. I believe it is the GREENEST month of the year. The fields, forests, and gardens turn to every shade of lime, emerald, and forest green imaginable. The flowers fully bloom, the air smells like candy, and there are endless sun-showers and fast moving clouds (which of course brings rainbows). Oh and don't forget the lambs who are growing fast and extremely playful! History about the Highland Games It's said the Highland Games originate from Ireland in 2000 BC and that they crossed the water to Scotland with the fourth and fifth century migrations of the Scotti into Dalriada (Argyll) and beyond. The Games, of course, are as much about music and dancing as they are about sports. Dancing, piping, fiddling, and playing the clarsach (Gaelic harp). The games are said to have become a way of choosing the most ablest men for the clan chieftain’s household but it wasn’t just brute strength that was determined.
