Mountain Alcos Climb The Poconos
After chasing WNYP's OL-2 through the hills and valley of northwest Pennsylvania recently, I figured now would be a good time to upload a throwback from almost two years ago of some real mountain railroading! On the final, wet day of my 2022 trip to Scranton in NEPA (northeast Pennsylvania), there was no better way to end the trip then by catching Delaware-Lackawanna's PO74 as they finish building their train before departing the Electric City with a trio of six-axle MLW brutes and an Alco C425, which make light work of the grades as they make their arduous climb up the Pocono Mountains to work customers in Tobyhanna and Mount Pocono along former Lackawanna Railroad trackage!
