Tonalist Landscape Oil Painting – Final Details & Light - Oil Painting With Stuart Davies

Welcome back to the studio! After just over a month away from painting due to the heatwave here in France and a few health issues, I'm finally back at the easel. It feels wonderful to be painting again, and I'm excited to share the next stage of this tonalist landscape painting with you. In this oil painting process video, I'm adding light, refining details, and making subtle adjustments to the composition to bring the scene together. It's often these final layers that create depth, atmosphere, and mood—qualities that are at the heart of tonalist landscape painting. If you enjoy oil painting, tonalist landscapes, traditional painting techniques, and watching fine art develop step by step, I hope you'll find something to inspire your own creative journey. Thank you for your patience and for all your support while I've been away. If you enjoyed the video, please leave a comment, give it a like, and subscribe for more oil painting videos and studio updates. It's less fiddly. Try it and let me know how you get on. This technique is not really suitable for acrylics.
