Why choose a BSG Quad Tractor. Tractors with equal sized wheels have a lower centre of gravity and being lower are less likely to turn over particularly on slopes. A front folding roll bar rear roll bar and seat belts are fitted for driver protection. Many tractor only have brakes on the rear wheels, this can be dangerous when going down hills or when trying to stop heavy trailers. Four wheel braking is much safer under these conditions. Maximum traction. The constant four wheel drive and differential locks on both axles make this type of design the most efficient way to maximise traction, only the crawler tractor has more grip. Most small tractors have a differential lock on the rear axle only. The traction is further improved by the swivel chassis, this gives 15 degrees of movement either side and allows the front and rear half of the tractor to follow the contours of the ground separately. Minimal ground damage. The weight distribution on the axles is 60% 0n the front and 40% on the rear, adding the rear implement and driver improves the weight distribution, as does the swivel chassis. There is no need to add extra front weights with heavy rear mounted implements. A particularly useful asset on soft ground is the four wheel (articulated steering) this ensures that the front wheels are always parallel even on the tightest of turns. The rear wheels follow the front when turning and this reduces the resistance and damage in mud. Easy to drive. Reversing a trailer is very easy with four wheel steering, as is reversing to hook onto a trailer or implement. The fact that a touch on the steering wheel will move the rear of tractor to either side gives the driver complete control of movement.
