Slabbing/Quartering Honey Locust. Log#74
Where possible I quarter-sawed this log for instrument backs. There was some interesting bird's-eye type figuring which may be from early branch clusters With the milling (phase 1) completed, next it will be air-dried, resawn, and then kiln dried before being used for instruments. 00:00 Introduction 0:32 Cut Plan 1:01 Milling the log 2:25 Interesting grain features 3:03 Grain Highlights 3:59 Outro #deorotonewoodmill #sawmill #honeylocust #acousticguitarback #backandsides #electricguitarveneer #instrumenttonewoods #grainiacs
