Discussing former Army sniper Nicholas Irving's advice, he agreed on the standpoint of aiming to walk away as the best initial method to deal with the unpredictable situation. Irving suggested if self-defense becomes necessary, use a protective object like pepper spray and target vulnerable body parts, and to be ruthless. In contrast, White criticized this strategy, pointing out real-life fights are unpredictable and constantly moving, making targeting specific areas difficult. White suggests the mental preparedness to fight back is essential in protecting oneself. He proposed hitting directly to the center of the face, using a palm heel for self-defense, then retreating as fast as possible would be a useful basic technique, and learning how to give a leg kick could also be beneficial.
