1992 FXRT // The Deathstar by San Diego Customs
What’s up everyone and welcome to the full walk around of The Deathstar our legendary 1992 FXRT build that started small and turned into an absolute monster. This isn't just an old Evo it’s a modern performance machine packing serious power and some of the best parts available. We'll take you through the history of this bike right back to its origins when it was first built in the boss's house [00:31] and all the performance secrets that make it rip. At the heart of the Deathstar is a fully built S&S 124 cubic inch motor paired with a Baker OD6 transmission to handle all the torque [02:10]. We modernized the powerhouse with a late model EFI system and after a serious tuning session at HPI during the COVID lockdown this bike dynoed out at a brutal 150.8 horsepower and 151 torque which makes it an absolute animal on the street [02:22] and [02:48]. We’re running a full HPI setup including the manifold air cleaner and a custom set of HPI header pipes that we had to engineer specifically to clear the OEM fairing and the bigger motor [03:40]. For the chassis and handling we spared no expense. We upgraded the rear with a robust Track Dynamics box swing arm [02:52] and for suspension we’re running Öhlins up front and AN shocks in the rear [03:32]. The bike rolls on our signature SDC Church Wheels and matching SDC Church Sprocket and we trust the stopping power of PM calipers and EBC rotors [03:00] and [03:07]. The body features an OEM Harley fairing and fenders with a mix of Alloy Arts strut covers and some subtle custom modifications [03:20]. The aesthetic is truly one-of-a-kind with a complex paint job by Pete featuring a subtle but deep matte and gloss black flame theme that is much more involved than it looks [01:18]. Finishing off the package is our incredibly comfortable SDC Saddlemen seat a part we developed several years ago for the perfect blend of style and function for those long rides [03:55]. Hit subscribe to keep up with all the insanity and performance builds coming out of the shop. #FXRT #HarleyDavidson #FXR #TheDeathstar #SanDiegoCustoms #SDC #PerformanceHarley #SS124 #BakerDrivetrain #HPI #CustomFXR #HighPerformance #EvoMotor #Saddlemen #TrackDynamics #Ohlins #FXRBuild
