同志你好-徵集500個異性戀朋友的微笑

Blessing Queer: Calling for 500 smiles from straight friends to LGBT people We believe: Every single person is born equal and entitled the same respect. Yet, ineffable are the difficulties and loneliness brought about by pressures and discriminations from the society against the gay community. On May 21, 2010, friends in the mainland China initiated a campaign to collect smiles and blessings from non homosexual members. "Through their own words in the form of an open letter, we express our understanding, encouragement and support to 50 million lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender friends in China, espeically those in distress. We call upon the society to accept LGBT people." reads their statement. Within one week, 400 supporters have participated in the campaigne already. (See the following link: http://www.douban.com/photos/album/27...) The originator of the campaign wrote, "Many asked me how to initiate this movement. I recall once a gay friend told me, 'I won't be able to get married in my life. I never dare to come out. But I hope in the future people could understand and support us. Even if I still have to be gay in my next life, I could then live a good one.' Humans pushed towards a corner by prejudices would have no way to go but remain in despair for the rest of their lives. Very few confessions were voiced out. Even less caught our attention. I heard it. I felt it. Could you imagine evern living in a solitude as such?" The care and concern echoed in Hong Kong. In response to the movement, we hope to gather 500 smiles in a month to support both local and mainland LGBT friends. "We hope there will be less prejudices and homosexual friends could have the courage to face their own selves, their lives and the society. No matter how many strange looks there are on you, please remember: We Love You!"
