An independent audit of the South Fulton Police Department says the agency is operating under “outdated” policies. The 65-page report comes after several lawsuits alleging a toxic work environment were filed against the department last summer. Mayor Carmalitha Gumbs, who was a councilwoman at the time, has released the findings. The report said many of the policies in place are “outdated, overly complex and inconsistently applied.” “The city will use this administrative review as a roadmap to establishing the South Fulton Police Department as one of the finest agencies in the state and the region, Gumbs said in a statement ahead of the press conference. “Successful law enforcement agencies constantly evaluate themselves, and this is our first step, as we move this city forward.” https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/2026...
