He has been one of most celebrated young voices in cinema in recent years, winning critics and audiences over with his intense emotional characters. Perhaps the height of this was Mommy, his 4th film at Cannes, for which he won a jury prize in the main competition. But this year, his newest film, It's Only The End of The World, got roughed up at Cannes and is still without US distribution (though it was short-listed for Oscar Foreign Language).
