When we think of change, we tend to think it comes from a major event, a major choice, that magically catapults us into a different state. In reality, what often happens is that to trigger change, we are called upon to cultivate it, with daily actions, with habits repeated over time. This is also true for mindfulness. Practicing mindfulness requires generating the intention to be present, now, moment by moment, in every context and in every moment. The video highlights some pitfalls inherent in the practice: wanting to be different from how one is projecting one's mindfulness into a future time believing that there must be an ideal condition for practicing.
