जब दिन ढले आना | Raag Yaman | Patiala Gharana Style। जब दिन ढले आना is a romantic composition set in Raag Yaman (Yaman Kalyan), presented in the Patiala Gharana style with extended classical elaboration — vilambit alap, sargam vistar, bol-banav, murkis, harkats, and taans. The mukhda of this song — "जब दिन ढले आना, जब रात चले आना..." — is inspired by the iconic refrain of Ravindra Jain's timeless 1976 classic "Jab Deep Jale Aana" (from the film Chitchor, sung by K.J. Yesudas and Hemlata), reimagined here with new words while keeping the spirit of that evening invitation alive. The three antaras, however, are entirely original — new imagery, new verses, written independently and not adapted from Ravindra Jain's original antaras. Why Patiala Gharana? The Patiala style was chosen deliberately for this rendition. Unlike many other gharana traditions, where a bandish often needs its words trimmed or compressed to fit the melodic structure, Patiala's characteristic taan-driven, ornamentation-rich approach allowed the full lyrics to be retained exactly as written — nothing shortened, nothing sacrificed for the sake of the form.
