IT'S A FORD FR***ING RANGER

Driver was on beach before daybreak . He attempted to cross Ocean Park Slough with his 2 wheel drive Ranger . My assumption is he hit the north bank of the slough and came to a dead stop . As he attempted to back up a 3 foot wave came in around the truck killing the motor . Game over . He did not call for a tow right away instead he got buddies to try and pull it out with no success . We got the call about 3 hours after the fact . In process of winching we had one winch broke . Not sure why . simple rules to driving on beach 1. 2 wheel drives should stay off beach at night 2. Always cross running water at angle to the cut banks 3. if you can't afford to lose your vehicle stay on pavement
