Tracklist below | Цукор Бiла Смерть (Sugar - White Death) was a Ukrainian music group from the city of Kyiv that existed in the late 1980's to early 1990's. It's one of the music collectives that started the so-called ethno-gothic style in Ukraine. The main figure of this project was Svitlana Okhrimenko (Світлана Охріменко) (later Svetlana Nyanogo). After she graduated from the musical college, she began composing on piano. At first, she played with cellist Tamila Mazur. "Цукор Бiла Смерть" ("Sugar - White Death") was formed when they were joined by guitarist Yevgeny Taran and pianist Alexander Kokhanovsky. The music they made is significantly different from the music of that time in Ukraine. In 1988 they recorded the album "Rhododendron Coral Aspid". In 1989 they released a collection of songs called "New Black and that same year, they recorded the album "Lilies and Amarillis". At that time, alternative bands did not have the opportunity to do professional recordings in Ukraine so the band was recorded and released on cassettes through the Polish label Koka Records. Selo was recorded between 11-13.05.1993 in Warszaw (Poland) with the addition of Polish musician Bolesław Błaszczyk on cello.
