He is a being bound to this hell, not so different from the rest of us. This song captures the process of an elegant gentleman's mask warping into grotesque madness. With this track, I wanted to weave various interpretations and narratives of Alastor into a single song. [ ✨ Message ] The story of this track aims to express Alastor's madness—mocking Charlie's naive plan for salvation while trying to show an even more terrifying, 'true' hell to cover up the moments his own control slips. Not just the composure of a powerful mastermind, but the sight of him pouring out bizarre dissonances to the whole world while resisting the invisible chains tightening around his neck. I felt that this uncontrollable moment is exactly when the chilling charm of Alastor's character deepens the most. [ 🎧 Sound Design ] Fitting Alastor's 1920s background, I kept the foundation of the cabaret jazz genre but wanted to express a musical theater vibe rather than a standard pop feel. While standard popular music usually structures measures in multiples of four to provide stability, I thought it would be better not to have that standardized structure from the start to better convey the show's atmosphere and Alastor's chaotic inner self. Through the auditory discomfort and eeriness coming from the misaligned measures, I tried to express the process of his seemingly perfect broadcast crumbling down. Over the noise of an old radio frequency and a heavily pressing contrabass, I placed rapid-fire vocals that gradually lose reason to express the clash between politeness and psychopathic duality. By placing the main chorus vocal and the backing chorus in an opposing structure, I wanted to maintain the original genre's vibe while creating a horrifying atmosphere. [ ✉️ From. Sachiro ] The feeling I wanted to convey in the music was the elegance of 1920s jazz and the character's sharp madness. However, I felt he wasn't a character who could be portrayed simply as a relaxed powerhouse, so I focused on bringing out the most uncomfortable and raw emotions residing within him.
