Unit 731: Japan's Darkest Secret

Unit 731 remains one of the darkest chapters of World War II history. Behind the cover of scientific research, the Imperial Japanese Army carried out a secret biological warfare program that subjected thousands of prisoners and civilians to inhumane experiments. For decades, much of what happened remained hidden from the public, and many of those responsible never faced justice. In this documentary, we explore the origins of Unit 731, the rise of Shirō Ishii, the experiments conducted inside the Pingfang facility, Japan's biological weapons program, and the controversial immunity granted to many of those involved after the war.
